On or off of the mountain––as black people––there are many trails we’ve yet to blaze and many peaks we’ve yet to summit. In 2022 Leimert Mountaineering was founded by Ron Meade with one goal in mind: to elevate culture to new peaks. This requires us to not only visit these spaces,but to express our authentic selves in them. Dissatisfied with the lack of cultural connection to existing outdoor apparel and gear brands, Ron set out to create his own line of outdoor gear leveraging his roots in black culture, passion for technical innovation, and love of the outdoors.
